FAQs

Will you add other pickup windows or deliver? Sundays are tough for me.
At this time, I’m starting small with one pickup window and don’t currently plan to offer delivery. Never say never, but I’m just one dude.

Can I send someone else to pick up my order, or pick up for someone else?
If you can’t make it during the pickup window, it’s totally fine to send someone else. They will just need an order confirmation to make sure folks aren’t snagging waffles that aren’t their’s.

Can I buy more waffles when I pick up my order?
At this time, no. I collect orders during the week so I know how much to make for the weekend pickup. I am considering a few experimental or seasonal flavors, however, so those may be options at some point.

Do you take bulk waffle orders or custom orders for other baked goods?
Of course! If you have a custom order request, please email me at waffledaddymadison@gmail.com and we can discuss the cost and timeline of your order.

Why don’t you just sell the waffles frozen?
Under Wisconsin cottage food regulations, I am required to sell my product at room temperature. Depending on future resources, I may shift to a “sold frozen for convenience” structure, but will remain at room temp for now.

Can I microwave the waffles?
Yes, but this will take away from the crispy exterior of the waffle. I’m not here to yuck anyone’s yum, so if you like a floppy waffle, have at it! If you’re making something that requires the waffle to have some flexibility (waffle ice cream tacos anyone?) I would recommend not freezing them after purchase so they have some bend but don’t lose their signature texture.

I toasted my waffles in my countertop toaster and the inside is still frozen. What happened?
There are a few things to check here:
1. Make sure your freezer is not set too cold. If it’s really cold, your toaster may be having a hard time warming the inside of the waffle.
2. Make sure your toaster isn’t set too high. Higher coil temperatures will cause the outer layer to brown or scorch before the inside has had a chance to warm up.
3. All toasters are different, and you may find success using a “frozen” or “bagel” setting on your toaster, which warms more gradually while toasting the outside.

Can I freeze, then thaw, and then re-freeze these waffles?
This is not recommended, as shifting between high and low temperatures can make it easy for bad bacteria to grow more quickly.

My question wasn’t answered! Is it too early to start panicking?
It’s never too early to panic, so please entertain that impulse as log as it is medically safe to do so! For your question, you can email me at waffledaddymadison@gmail.com and I will respond as soon as possible. While you wait, maybe call your therapist or licensed professional to talk through some of the anxiety you’re feeling?
